Petri Vase in Blush

Elyse Graham's Microbe Collection is inspired by the unique galaxy of microorganisms living within each of us. They created a technique for dying and stippling each vase that evokes the nature of microbes as they grow and colonize .

Each vase is hand-cast with hydrocal plaster inside of a unique balloon shape. The interior of each piece is poured with layers of resin, making it waterproof. Finally, each vase is hand-dyed with custom mixed pigments and finished with a unique pattern of dyed plaster protuberances. The exterior of each vase is sealed with a UV resistant acrylic coating.

These vases are all handmade and will vary slightly in shape, size, color and pattern.
